39 weeks

How far along? Well I have made it to 39 weeks and having a watermelon sized baby in my stomach.. He likes to jab me and remind me that he is the size of a watermelon too..

Just to give you a visual on how big this baby is :)

Total weight gain:  Praise the Lord, I lost a pound!! I probably gained it back after my girls night at the Melting Pot last night though ;)

Working out?  I did go once this weekend, and once this week although I can tell it makes Brian a bit nervous.  He doesn't want me to wear myself out knowing that labor is imminent.  I've been pretty consistent in my working out and squats so I really hope that helps in the whole labor process.

When I asked Brian for a shirt to wear to the gym he gave me this one..
He knows I'm a Mavs fan..
Rings on or off?  still on at 39 weeks! yay! that's an accomplishment for me!

Sleep:  I had my first rough night of sleep this weekend and was up 5 times.  But hey if the first time that happened is at 39 weeks, I'm still pretty lucky.  Other than that, I've been sleeping like a champ.  The worst part of my day is getting out of bed because I just want to stay and cuddle all day with Bear.

Best moment this week:  Spending a good 3 hours with my girl friends for our last girl's night before Rhett arrives.  We had such a good time at the Melting Pot, and omg the food is soo good!  The cheese and chocolate are my favorite parts!

Love these ladies, and I'm so glad we got some good girl time!
The manager even gave us all roses after dinner!  So sweet!

Cravings:  Still avocados.. I almost made Brian go to the store for them one night, but thankfully my coworker saved me a half of one and that hit the craving.  I made cheese and avocado nachos for dinner that night.

I still have the Christmas plates out haha

Symptoms:  Well I'm officially as big as a barn and bump into things with my belly.  I'm just getting to that uncomfortable stage as far as getting up from a sitting or laying position. I'm also having some Braxton Hicks which don't hurt at all, but are encouraging me to think that Rhett might want to make his appearance soon :)

Looking forward to:  Holding my baby!  Seems like it could happen at any time, but it just hasn't yet!  Also, I'm looking forward to having my mom here for a while to help me with the baby and hang out :)

38 weeks

How far along? 38 weeks and RBB is as long as a leek and about 7- 7.5 lbs according to my doctor.

Total weight gain:  I'm pretty sure I don't want to update this stat anymore.  For real it is depressing to me to see these numbers on the scale!  I'm so ready to be my normal size again and not big as a barn.

Working out?  I was bad at this too this week!  We had something every night this week and I just didn't go.  Perhaps I can go this weekend since we have nothing going on in case Rhett decides to come.

Rings on or off?  still on

Sleep:  Surprisingly, I'm sleeping really well still!  I got to sleep in this past weekend and it was heavenly!  I do not want to get out of bed in the mornings to go to work!  Plus Bear has been so super snuggly.  He must know that Rhett is coming and life will change.  Poor little guy has been our only "baby" for 6 years now.

Best moment this week:  We have completely finished the nursery and both our "to do" lists before baby arrives.  I'm feeling good and ready now :)  Meals are prepped, bags are packed, newborn photographer is booked, essentials are stocked up (tp, paper towels, dry shampoo), and we are good to go!

Cravings:  Well we went to a restaurant called Burn Co this past weekend and the mac & cheese was simply amazing!  As well as the key lime pie and the ribs.  Seriously the line to get in the door was crazy and we waited for about 45 minutes!!  Even still, if this baby doesn't arrive this week, I really want to go back on Saturday!! hahahahaha crazy pregnant cravings!

Symptoms:  Finally feeling full!  You know the stage that people told me I would get to and I never thought I would, well I'm there.  I literally feel like I can't eat that much anymore.  I've also been having more regular lower back pain as well as a weird pain on my lower left side.  This child is probably just laying on a nerve..

Looking forward to:  Holding our baby!  I can't wait to see what he looks like, how long he is, how much he weighs, etc.  I really can't believe this pregnancy is almost over.  It feels like it flew by, and I'm so grateful to have had such an easy time with it all.

Rhett's Navy & White Nursery Reveal

When we found out that we were expecting, I decided to do navy and white in the nursery regardless of the gender.  Ideally it would be for a little boy, but I was going to pop in some pink if it was a girl's nursery.  My sister found a bedding set from a cute boutique that was cheaper than the Pottery Barn set I was wanting so I snatched that up before even knowing the gender.  It kind of set the scene for the nursery.  I also knew that if it was a boy, I wanted to use the Pottery Barn bears in the nursery.  I love the classic look and neutral color of the bears, plus I'm pretty sure Brian would have nixed the idea of the PBK bunnies in our little guy's room even though I love them too ;)

We found our crib on Amazon (prime for the win with free shipping) and love it!  Since our crib did not have a matching dresser, we found one that matched pretty well at Buy Buy Baby.  I was so thankful because the exact dresser that we loved online was in the scratch and dent section at Buy Buy Baby for a discount, and I could use a coupon too! Thank you Jesus for providing!

Our chair took a little time to get to where we wanted.  Within the last year, we re-covered a chair that Brian's parents gave us.  It turned out so well and is a great chair so when Sharon found us another chair just like it at a resale place, we jumped on that idea.  Unfortunately, the bones of this new chair were not quite as good.  We ended up having to fix the base to make it taller and recover the chair with new fabric and some stuffing before it was over, but it's perfect now!

Fair warning: I am trying out my new camera and am in no way a professional, but here are the shots I took of the completed nursery this weekend.

Kind of hard to see but I wanted to show the lamp

I love our crib and the quilt that my mother in law made for Rhett.
She also made that pillow out of a valence from the bedding set.

Sweet rocky bear from my little sister.  I love him so much!

Like I said, I love the PBK bears

books and bears galore

Love this big bear from Scarlett

Sweet little PBK anywhere chair with a bear that is more Rhett's size :)

My friend Reagan painted these signs for Rhett, and I couldn't be happier with them!

Little white bear from our babymoon in Alaska

Got all the essentials for baby changing in the top drawer

and of course organized clothes

My friends made this adorable wreath for one of my showers.
I added the little PBK bear rattle (I know I'm obsessed)

Semi-organized closet shot

I love my little fur boxes!  Thank you Target and my coworkers for the gift card ;)

37 weeks

How far along? 37 weeks and RBB is the size of a winter melon.. What exactly is a winter melon?  I wondered the same thing:

Looks pretty similar to a watermelon wouldn't you say?

Total weight gain:  31 lbs eek!  I don't want to see the scale go up any further

Working out?  Yep! still working out although my workout partner is not letting me do quite as much as I would normally push for.

Rings on or off?  still on

Sleep:  This child is moving like crazy, but surprisingly I'm still sleeping well! Praise the Lord for that!

Best moment this week:  Scarlett and I went on a little spa date and got our nails done before our babies come.  She is due in less than a week and I am due in two weeks. Craziness!!

Some lady in the salon knew that I was having a boy and Scarlett is having a girl
simply based on the way we are carrying the babies.

Cravings:  Still avocados.. It's pretty ridiculous.  I hope I still like avocados after this pregnancy and don't burn myself out on them.

Symptoms:  Starting to feel some tightness in my lower back and sharp pains occasionally, but that is it.  At my appointment this week, my doctor told me I was farther along than he expected and pretty much this baby could be here at any time which sounds nutty to me.  He said if you were to take 10 first time moms and check them, that only 2 out of 10 would be as far along as I am at 37.5 weeks.  Kind of crazy!  He also told me I could not take a work trip I was hoping to take this weekend, unless I was "ok" with delivering in Dallas... nope, I am not ok with that so I am staying here this weekend.

Looking forward to:  Spending time with Brian and his family this weekend.  I'm also going to finish the nursery and take pictures for a post on here!  I love the way it all came together.

36 weeks

How far along? 36 weeks and Rhett is as long as a head of romaine lettuce.  Although, let's be serious, I'm guessing he is longer than average based on Brian's height alone!  My doctor says he is about 6 to 6.5 lbs now, but not huge so that is a relief!

Total weight gain:  Super nervous about this part... Weighed in at the doctor's office today and have gained 30 lbs total.  Eek!  Needless to say, I indulged over the holidays hahaha

Working out?  Went twice this week so far! although it is hard to do that much which is annoying.  The whole not being able to catch your breath coupled with heartburn flaring up is no fun.

Rings on or off?  still on

Sleep:  Sleeping fairly well actually.. Although I always end up on my back and some part of my body starts to go numb.  I'm definitely having trouble getting up in the morning!  I just want to sleep in which is definitely in the schedule for this weekend.

Best moment this week:  Girls night for Katherine's birthday!  I'm soaking all the time in that I can get with friends.  We stayed up way too late chatting and eating chocolate fondue.  The two pregnant girls were in heaven with that chocolate.. hence the weight gain mentioned above haha

documenting our girls night with a selfie

Cravings:  Avocados.. all the time.  And my brother brought me a frozen take 'n bake pizza from our favorite local pizza place back home for Christmas, and I was in heaven!! Seriously it's so good!

the best little grease pot pepperonis

Symptoms:  I'm still hungry all the time.  I really don't know when the whole "you feel so full" phase starts because I am not there yet..  I am having some pains in my lower pelvis that feel like stretching which hopefully means he is dropping!

Looking forward to:  My church shower this weekend!  After that, I'll go get whatever things we may still need and feel really ready for Rhett to arrive at any time.

Nesting

With the extra day off of work for New Years, Brian and I were super productive this weekend! We are almost completely done with the nursery now!  I still have one more shower this coming this weekend, and then we will buy whatever else we might still need before Rhett arrives.  I guess I'm definitely in the "nesting" stage of this pregnancy.

I felt like this was such a good weekend simply because I had the energy for most everything on my to do list and still got to spend some good quality time with Brian watching three movies and dinners together just the two of us.  My goal this month is to go on as many dates as we can and soak up this alone time together before our lives are taken over by a small human who needs us at all times.

NYE's Mexican food dinner on my fine china.  Still loving that guacamole ;)

I attempted healthy coconut oil chocolate fondue..
don't try it yourself!  It was not good...

Hung the curtains and got rid of my night stand so we could put the Rock N Play
by the bed in preparation

Bear was not wanting to pose for my pics on our walk..

Delicious black eyed peas

These two napping during a football game

I finally got to watch Elf even if it was after Christmas

My sweet friend Karis made these tags for me to put on my L&D nurse presents
We finished up a lot of the nursery this weekend with new lamps, organization etc.  I'll post a full nursery post once it is completely done!  We installed the car seat in my car and realized Brian and I sit way far back when we drive.  Must be a tall person thing.  It is pretty tight now with the car seat in there eek!  We took Bear for several walks, made black eyed peas and ham that was the bomb, got to hang out with a couple sets of friends, cleaned out and hung curtains in our master bedroom, took down all of Christmas, finished my presents for my labor & delivery nurses, and cleaned the house.  I felt so accomplished!
