This year was a different Christmas for Brian and I. My sister went into labor on December 20th and had Parker Kate on December 21st! So exciting for our family, and I was sad to miss it all. Brian and I decided that we didn't really need to do gifts this year.. Ok let me rephrase that, Brian got an F-150 Platinum for Christmas so I didn't buy him anything but a coffee mug ;) Oh the life of adults.. Instead of traditional gifts, we decided to buy each other some things we wanted before Rhett arrives: a camera, camcorder, laptop (since we will actually be getting internet for the first time in our over 5 years of marriage). Brian still managed to surprise me with a couple of thoughtful gifts though!
We went to Arkansas this year for Christmas with Brian's folks and invited our best friends along who couldn't travel that far since he only had one day off from his residency program. It was really fun to all be together and celebrating the season.
Get ready for picture overload from Christmas.. And remember that camera and camcorder we bought ourselves to try out over Christmas? Oh yes, we didn't think about getting a SD card for either item so couldn't use them!

Also, that missing present that we never could find wasn't under our tree when we got home either.. It was quite perplexing until Brian realized he never wrapped it for me!!!! Blonde moment for Brian. He did very well though because on our way home from Arkansas, I was telling him how I really wanted another pair of my NB minimus shoes for inspiration to get my booty back in the gym after Rhett was born. What did I open up that night but a new pair of minimus shoes! Love that man! It was a wonderful Christmas overall, and we cannot wait for the new year with our new little guy!
