Happy 3-day weekend! We sure enjoyed our time off from work and kept pretty busy this weekend. Friday night I hung out with my friend Brittany and her two cute kiddos. We got to play at Chickfila and eat more chikin. Then they took me out to see their new property with a tree-lined drive and picturesque white fence.

We took the kiddos home for bath and bed time then worked out together with the punching bag. It was a perfect way to spend the evening.
Saturday, I met Scarlett at Cupcakes by Lu, to support her friend who is starting her own business. They had a wide variety from maple & bacon to German chocolate to plain vanilla. Cupcakes by Lu is at 81st and Harvard if you are in the Tulsa area and want to check them out for a sweet treat!
That afternoon we had Catherine's first bridal shower. It was hosted by two of her mother's good friends, Pam and Greenie. They had the absolute cutest little boxed lunches and the most gorgeous floral arrangements thanks to Pam's interior decorating skills.

Later that night we had some friends and family over for a "Camp In" since it is 100+ outside even though it is September. Crazy hot! I made some camping treats for the occasion. The girls stayed around the snacks and visited while the boys watched football until we started our "camping movie" the Goonies.

This was such a great alternative to camping in 100 degree heat with a cricket family in my sleeping bag. I'm always up for this type of "camping" :)
After church on Sunday, I stole some time to work on some sewing projects that had been sitting in the bottom of my closet for almost a year. My mother in law has been helping me learn how to sew on my new machine that she got me for Christmas. Granted, my mom had tried to teach me in the past, but I had never really cared to learn until now. I feel so empowered with my new sewing skills that I just tackled 4 articles of clothing and sewed them all up. They are ready to wear this season instead of lying in my closet for another year.
My sister & brother in law and their two kiddos came to visit on Sunday and stayed through Monday. We grilled out that night and watched Winnie the Pooh with the kids.
On Labor Day, we went to visit my sister and her roommate's Quaker Parrot Dill and go swimming. Tara was a bit scared of Dill at first, but she warmed up to petting him.

We went to lunch at the Muscle Maker Grill since Grant knew the chef from Arkansas and then to Dillards to pick up their new leather couches. After we loaded the couches, the Morris' headed home with two tired kiddos in tow. Brian headed off to golf with Brett, and I hit my favorite discount store ever, Namebrand Clothing, before having dinner with some girlfriends. What a wonderful Labor Day :)
